Policies

Stella Information and Policies

• Regular season classes will run from September through May with holiday
breaks that do not necessarily follow the school schedule.
• Students must be at least 3 years old by September 1st to register in our
regular season classes.
• Students will be placed in classes based on age and skill/experience level, which is determined by our staff.
• If a class does not have at least 4 students enrolled, the class will be cancelled and refunds will be given at that
time.
• There are no refunds on registration fees.
• New students will be accepted through November if space available.
• Observing classes is not allowed except on predetermined dates. We will let you know in advance what days
are reserved for observation.
• If your dancer chooses to withdraw from any regular season class any time after October 31st, tuition for the
month in which he or she drops still needs to be paid and there will be a $30 drop fee.
• We encourage parents to drop off their dancer for class to help them grow in their independence. If your child
has any kind of separation anxiety or may need help using the restroom, we ask that you stay in our lobby for
the duration of their class so you can help if needed.

Attendance is critical to the development and discipline of dance. It is very important that students attend as
many classes as possible. If a student is injured, they should come and watch class, but if they are sick and
contagious, please stay at home and rest. Having a healthy body is number one! Please email in advance and log
your absence into your account when a student must miss a class. During the final 4 weeks before the recital, it is
unacceptable to miss a class unless for health reasons. There are no refunds for missed classes.

Please use the bathroom before arriving to the studio. Restrooms will be available, but we'd like to minimize
the number of kids using the facilities as much as possible during their time at the studio. If small children cannot
go to the bathroom by themselves, a parent needs to stay in the lobby area during their class to help them if need
be. Dancers who have class in studio 1 should use the bathrooms located in our dancer’s lounge which is outside of
studio 1. Dancers who have class in studio 2 should use the bathrooms located in the upstairs hallway outside of
studio 2.

Costumes are ordered in November and payment is due on November 5th. Costumes are $75 each and all students
will need one costume per class unless they are on a competition line. This payment is non-refundable. This
costume will be worn for pictures in March and the recital in May.

Pictures will be held in the month of March. Students must wear their costumes and be in the photos even if they
will not be ordering any photos.

Recital Package Each dancer registered for our regular season classes or competition classes is required to purchase our recital
package which includes our dress rehearsal fee, a recital t-shirt, and a digital copy of our recital video. When video
production is complete, we will send a link by email that will allow you to view the recital video. You are welcome
to share this link with family and friends and even download it to your own flash drive!

Private lessons are available for $57.50/hour. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged $38
for an hour lesson or $19 for a 30 minute lesson. If you do not show up for your lesson and we are not notified
about your absence before the lesson, you will be charged the full price of the lesson.

Tuition
• For everyone’s convenience, we will be using an automated recurring billing system. If you wish to pay by
cash or check, you can do so before the 5th of each month. On the 5th of each month, we will run the card on
file for the balance due. Therefore, everyone must have a credit or debit card on file with the studio.
• All credit card payments will be charged a processing fee.
• A $15 late fee will be charged to your account if it is not paid by the 5th.
• Need help paying your account? Please reach out to Stephanie Boden at stelladancestaff@gmail.com to set
up a payment plan.
• You can login to your account at stelladancestudio.com at any time to view your balance or make a
payment.
• There are no refunds for weather cancellations or missed classes due to absences.

Shoes and tights are available to order at our open house as well as throughout the season. If you’d like to place
an order for shoes or apparel after our open house, please email Stephanie to set up a time for your dancer to be
sized. We understand that some dancers might have shoes and tights that are a different style than what is
required at Stella. These are fine to wear for the first part of the season, but by January 1st your student must order
the correct pair of shoes and tights from Stella Dance Studio to ensure uniformity for pictures and the recital.

Dress Code Our dress code is very important to us at Stella and to the learning and progression of your dancer. Please make
sure you follow the rules for each class. In our summer classes, students may wear any color as long as they are
dance clothes. No jeans please. Dress code for September-May classes is organized below by class.
